about the pots passport

The POTS Passport was born from our love of adventure and our journey navigating Emily’s POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) and other chronic illnesses. As a husband and wife duo, we understand the complexities of traveling with health limitations, and we’ve made it our mission to share what we’ve learned along the way. Our goal is to create a supportive space where fellow travelers—whether living with a chronic condition or supporting someone who is—can find inspiration, practical advice, and a community that celebrates the triumphs of every journey. From breathtaking adventures to cozy coffee shop corners, we’re here to show you that the world is full of possibilities, one accessible step at a time.

Meet the murphys

We’re Chris and Emily Murphy, a pair of adventurers who approach life at different paces. Chris is the thrill-seeker in our duo, always chasing the next big adventure—whether it’s skydiving, climbing, or swimming with sharks. Emily’s journey looks a bit different due to POTS and secondary adrenal insufficiency, which means her adventures are more measured. Despite our different approaches, we love living life together. Chris is not just Emily’s partner in life but also her biggest supporter, always by her side to help navigate the challenges of her conditions and make sure she can still experience the adventures we both love.

Chris is a firefighter and freelance drone videographer. Emily is a small business consultant and photographer. We live in sunny Virginia Beach, Virginia.

We got married in 2023 and have made it our mission to explore the world together, and believe that faith and a shared sense of adventure can overcome any obstacle.
